Key to an approach in narrative concept design is striking a balance between style and narrative. In a single image, you’ve got to find the look and frame that brings to life a hidden narrative and teases at what’s to come. For Hitman 2 we explored many narrative paths and hinted at mysteries in the main characters past. Key elements of the game were also teased in the designs. The use of everything from color tone to light bokeh referenced major tonal elements in the actual game. When it comes to the details, we become obsessive. In the end, designing such a lasting impression for an amazing game franchise like Hitman is truly an opportunity we never pass up.
