REDISCOVER POKÉMON GO

As the genre defining AR smash hit Pokémon Go continues to expand and grow, they had a massive new update to bring to the players that brings new gameplay features and revamped graphics. With an update this large, Pokémon Go needed a big marketing campaign that would spread the word for the new features and remind the world just what the magic of Pokémon Go is all about. We took on this challenge with open arms creating every asset from live-action trailers with CG Pokémon to Keyart and beyond.

KEYART

Throughout the campaign, we developed stunning Gateway designs that encapsulate all the core features coming to the updates on GO. For each biome, we created bespoke artwork utilized across multiple formats and platforms. With the updates to Avatars, we also featured custom art that emphasizes the new customization options, highlighting the diversity players can find within their in-game communities.

Rediscover Kanto

We went on location to shoot various landscapes inspired by the newest gameplay environments such as the Forest, Mountain, Beach, and City. Our team managed every aspect of pre-production, from location scouting to casting, wardrobe, and art direction. For the Hero spot, we aimed to explore the concept of portals, transporting viewers to different locations while seamlessly integrating iconic Kanto Pokémon into our reality.

Imagine a portal, not just a mere window, but a dynamic mirror that reflects and transforms. This central visual device in the campaign serves as a gateway between two realms: the familiar world we know and the vibrant Pokémon GO universe.

FOREST

The Forest biome is home to Pokémon first discovered in Kanto such as bulbsaur, Caterpie, Weedle, Oddish and more.

BEACH

The Beach biome is home to Squirtle, Psyduck, Seel Magikarp,and more.

MOUNTAIN

The Mountain biome is home to Sandshrew, Clefairy, Zubat, Diglett and more.

CITY

The city biome is home to Caterpie, Pidgey, Machoke, Ghastly and more.

The enhanced AR photo mode in Pokémon GO’s Spring Refresh is a powerful tool for amplifying campaign reach and re-engaging players through community-driven content. We were tasked with creating a short spot that showcases the various natural habitats of Pokémon through new biomes. Each scene not only highlights the diversity of the Pokémon world but also encourages players to immerse themselves in this interactive experience.

Our Work in the WILD

The social media campaign was all about showing off the cool stuff we created and making sure it grabbed attention across every platform—from Instagram to the Apple App Store, and even TikTok. With eye-popping visuals and punchy messaging, we brought the Pokémon GO world to life online, getting the community hyped and buzzing. The campaign got everyone excited to dive back in and rediscover their favorite Pokémon all over again.
