THE CHALLENGE

TAKE THE VIEWER ON A REFRESHING JOURNEY

While other electrolyte drinks have turned into a sugary beverage, Ultima Replenisher is a no-sugar, plant-based alternative that is refreshing yet also all natural. Our challenge was to communicate this feeling of “refreshment” that was both playful yet visceral, making that feeling synonymous with the brand.

THE APPROACH

THE RIPPLE EFFECT

We employed a “ripple effect” visual device, inspired by the liquids of the drink, to transport our viewers on a journey from reality to refreshment through a series of exhuberant sensory shots. For the live action, a “zolly” Hitchcock-like vertigo effect was employed where talent was literally transformed with wind and lighting into Ultima’s version of reality.

Additionally we created a look for Ultima that jumps off the page, with bold swatches of colors inspired by the various flavors utilized into wardrobe and an art-directed, heightened environment.

All of this combined gave the viewer a sense of before and after the drinking of Ultima, transporting us to an almost delerious state of refreshment.

To extend Ultima’s brand, we created a toolkit for Ultima’s now signature ripple effect as well as the product endpage, to allow the endless creation of all the different flavors across the product line.

In the end we created a candy colored spot and toolkit system that will entice viewers to experience their own ripple of refreshment.
