Opening the Gates

Premier is VALORANT’s in-game competitive tournament system, providing players with an opportunity to test their skills as a team in a competitive arena.

We once again joined forces with VALORANT to help them expand the Premier brand, uniting a global fanbase of competitive players of all skill levels and transforming the prestigious core of the current design system into a more inviting and celebratory visual landscape.


A Layer of Expression

For this design exercise, we selected Premier’s extended color palette, the angularity of the logotype, and the structural grid itself as our toolset.

We made them malleable, aiming to inject an additional layer of expression and personality into the visual system while preserving the brand’s DNA, making the visuals and tonal approach much more inclusive to all players worldwide.


Beyond the Launch

Working closely with the VALORANT editorial team, we conceived toolkits for the promotional and explainer videos marking the official launch of the Premier platform. Beyond the branding elements, we ideated opportunities for animation and gameplay embellishments to ramp up the energy of the edits.

WAR also created a customizable suite of motion graphic elements that enable the Riot team to reinforce the Premier brand across all its digital and social media video content, including framing devices and lower thirds.


Everyone is Invited

The team at WAR tackled this challenge by creating a surgical brand refresh and assets toolkit which fed directly into two editorial pieces that served equal parts of information and hype to the fanbase.

The ultimate goal was to communicate that while Premier is the most prestigious arena for VALORANT competition, everyone is invited to partake!
